This past week, my parents hosted my cousin Emily's engagement party, celebrating her engagement to her fiance Marc!
The party was a wine and cheese/cocktail theme. Emily and Marc live in Switzerland, so good cheeses were very important.
The colour scheme was white, soft pink and grey, and there was an emphasis on peonies (Em's favourite flower) and candles for decor.
My mom asked me to help with some of the planning, specifically with the floral arrangements, here's a look at some of the many MANY arrangements I put together before the party.

As mentioned, we had a bunch of cheese (and of course crackers) for guests to nibble on. We also had some nice meats, olives, Swedish meatballs, chicken skewers and samosas to round out our Tuscan table,
And of course, we ordered a bunch of mini cupcakes from Sweet Bakery for dessert! The mint chip was AMAZING.
Before long, it was time for our champagne toast to the newly engaged couple. My grandfather said some beautiful words (as Patriarch) welcoming Marc to our family, and saying how excited we all were for Emily.
Emily and Marc, as well as Emily's parents also said some lovely words. There were a few tears shed... and a lot of toasting!
All that was left for my family to enjoy being all together for such a great reason; to eat, drink and be merry!
Congratulations Em! I'm so excited for the both of you and can't wait until the big day!
