Brunch is the best meal of the day. Even on days you don’t
eat brunch. Even on days you manage to squeeze breakfast and lunch around
brunch, because you eat like a hobbit.
Brunch is the best, and I take it very
seriously.
Deciding to soak up the last bit of summer in the City, Nela
and I popped off to the east end of Toronto to enjoy a patio brunch at Bonjour Brioche.
This adorable little French bakery/brunch spot is very
popular. Be ready to wait in line for a table but I promise you it is well
worth it!
We started off with some fancy coffees which looked really
charming on our quaint table clothed patio table.
Then we started in on the menu…
We were a bit overwhelmed; there’s brunch, sandwich and (of
course) bakery options to choose from! We’re going to have to go back because
there was at least 3 things I wanted desperately, and another 10 things I could eat daily if I wasn't afraid to weigh 500 pounds. Of course there’s also the chalk board
specials menu for the “brunch enthusiast”
Nela ordered an Eggs Benny (served on a croissant) with
Avocado and Tomato. I went for the Scrambled Egg with Smoked salmon, creamed
horseradish and caviar.
We were not disappointed when our meals arrived.
After essentially licking our plates clean, we paid our bill
on the patio then went into the bakery to take a look at the fresh treats. We just had to get some Chocolate Croissants and an
espresso to go! Though the tarts did look fabulous...
Bonjour Brioche is on Queen Street right near Broadview!
Bon Appétit mes amis!
